American Rifleman | New for 2020: Red Arrow Weapons RAW10
While the rifle market was flooded with hundreds of shots of the AR-15, the original AR platform was housed in .308 Win. received less attention. Fortunately, Red Arrow Weapons has an advanced option based on the AR .308 platform in their RAW10 design that offers firearms enthusiasts a special short-action semi-car that comes with the latest upgrades.
The heart of the Red Arrow Weapons RAW10 is a stainless steel barrel with a twist rate of 1:10 “. The barrel has a straight corrugation that increases the surface area for quick cooling and allows the shooter to shoot longer without the barrel overflowing The fluting also reduces some of the weight of the barrel itself, shifting the rifle’s balance backwards.
Around the 18-inch barrel is a 15-inch M-LOK-RAW handguard with M-LOK mounting slots at the 9, 3 and 6 o’clock positions. Rather than running a full-length Picatinny rail from the front of the receiver to the mouth end of the handguard, the RAW design includes short rail sections at the front and back, interrupted by a streamlined, ventilated space that reduces weight and encourages airflow through the Hand protection for the barrel for more cooling.
Inside the RAW10’s aluminum receiver, consumers will find a single-stage CMC trigger that breaks cleanly at 2.5 lbs. The rifle is also equipped with an AR-10-style bolt carrier assembly that comes with a melonite treated finish and a high pressure firing pin. The rear end of the weapon is rounded off by a Magpul K Grip and an ACS-L Carbine stick.
The Red Arrow Weapons RAW10 also have a gas-length gas system, a DB10 muzzle brake and a Midnight Bronze Cerakote finish. When unloaded, the rifle weighs 8 lbs., 7.5 oz. The suggested retail price for the RAW10 is $ 1,250. Please visit redarrowweapons.com for more information.
