American Rifleman | New For 2021: Taurus USA TX22 Competition

Taurus USA announced a serious upgrade to its TX22 rimfire pistol for 2021. The new Taurus TX22 competition has all of the bells and whistles that casual shooters enjoy and is aimed specifically at the competitive shooting market – this latest version is look-ready and bespoke and ships with three magazines.

Taurus is based on a tried and tested blowback action and has tuned the pistol fired by a striker to match-grade consistency. At the same time, users can tap into the growing gun optics market. An innovative two-sided adapter plate was designed to accommodate Burris, Bushnell, C-More, Doktor, Holosun, Leupold, Sightmark, Trijicon and Vortex sample bases at the time of reporting.

For those who prefer to stick to the included sights, Taurus uses a fully adjustable white dot on the back of the skeletonized aluminum slide. The visor is a solid white point. Taurus offers a comfortable, ergonomic, full-size handle and frame assembly with textured elements that nest evenly between the hands during operation.

The overall length for the TX22 Competition is 8.15 inches and the gun weighs 23 ounces. Taurus supplies a 5 inch bull barrel with a thread for accessories. A Picatinny rail cast into the protective cover enables additional accessories.
