Armed Citizen® today

A homeowner and mother in Port Huron, Michigan were defending their property, themselves and their child when a burglar tried to force his way into the residence in the wee hours of February 28, 2021.

The incident occurred before 5 a.m. that Sunday morning when the woman was alerted by the sound of someone trying to force her way into her home. Fearing for the safety of herself and her young child, the woman armed herself with a gun and shot the intruder in the neck. The intruder then fled the property and walked down the street to call for help.

The woman called the police shortly afterwards to report the incident. Police had already received calls from other residences in the area to report the screaming wounded intruder. The intruder was taken to a nearby hospital to have his wound treated. The woman told investigators that she had no idea who the man was or why he tried to break into her home. The investigation is still ongoing. (
