Buffalo man pleads guilty to gun charge | Crime News

A Buffalo man is sentenced to five years in prison for a gun crime discovered following a road traffic accident in 2020.

When officers arrived at the scene of the accident on Leroy Avenue and Holden Street, they found a loaded, semi-automatic pistol in the passenger seat of a car owned by Jarmaine Dunbar, 43. The officers also found a plastic bag of cocaine patted him, according to prosecutors.

According to US attorney James P. Kennedy Jr., Dunbar pleaded guilty to US District Judge John L. Sinatra Jr. of possessing a firearm in aid of a drug trafficking crime.

The indictment provides for a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in prison, a maximum of life and a fine of $ 250,000.

The sentencing is scheduled for July 15th.
