Burlington man found with 10.5 pounds of marijuana, edibles
A Burlington man was arrested Wednesday night after MPs issued a search warrant in his home and found more than 10 pounds of drugs, cash and guns.
James Thompson Jr., 48, 413 Peele Street Burlington, has been charged with selling or delivering marijuana, two cases of criminal possession with intent to sell or distribute marijuana, criminal possession of marijuana, crimes involving an apartment for safekeeping or the sale of marijuana entertaining a controlled substance, two cases of criminal possession of a firearm by a criminal and misdemeanors in possession of drug paraphernalia.
Alamance County Sheriff’s Bureau and North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement MPs carried out the search warrant at Thompson’s home around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday after “an intensive investigation into various violations of the NC Controlled Substances Act.” .
Investigators confiscated 6.25 pounds of marijuana, 4.28 pounds of THC-infused food, 4.85 ounces of THC oil, $ 2,864 in cash, an AR-15 rifle, and an SCCY .380 pistol.
Thompson was taken to Alamance County Jail, where he is being held under $ 50,000 bond.
