Chlorine leak reported at Winchester Water plant | News

WINCHESTER, TN (WSMV) – Dangerous Goods crews helped stop a chlorine leak at Winchester Waterworks Saturday morning.

Crews from Coffee County, Manchester, and Tullahoma helped Winchester Fire around 7:30 a.m. Saturday after a phone call about a leaking chlorine gas bottle. The crews placed a special device on the 1-ton cylinder to stop the leak.

No casualties were reported in the incident and no gas was released from the building as air washers are installed to purify the air before it is vented from the building.
