Clifford Ryan on management: A decided, considerate, person can make a difference

Clifford Ryan holds one of his signs saying “OGs Against Violence”. He says that executives have to be role models for the behavior they want: “You can’t counter aggression with aggression.”2016 file photo / Dennis Nett

Clifford Ryan is a recreational worker who works with seniors at the McChesney Park Community Center in Syracuse.

“It’s an honor to do that,” said Ryan. “You gain wisdom and knowledge from the elderly. I really enjoy interacting with them. They play pickleball, basketball, volleyball. They play bingo. They do zumba. They do yoga. You do strength and balance training. I represent coaches, like the Zumba instructors, when they can’t be there. I am trained in everything to do with the job. Thats my job.”
