Estepona police have arrested a man who was allegedly found in his car with more than four kilos of cocaine and a gun, and the officer injured.

Police said the man tried to flee and injured officers trying to arrest him after he was found in his car in Estepona with more than four kilos of cocaine and a gun.

National Police officers arrested the 38-year-old Moroccan man after meeting the suspect at a police checkpoint near the A-7 on his way through the El Velerin area of ​​Estepona.

Agents from the local National Police Brigade intercepted a vehicle and, after identifying the driver and inspecting the interior of the car, found four rectangular packages containing more than four kilos of cocaine.

Police also found three pieces of cocaine weighing 7.2 grams and a semi-automatic pistol with ammunition.

During the stop, the driver of the vehicle tried to avoid arrest and “showed great physical resistance,” police said, and even injured officers.

Police had to shut down traffic to prevent an accident after the man allegedly tried to escape on foot before he was finally arrested for a public health crime and another for illegally possessing weapons.

The officers also reportedly found four cell phones and € 2,820 and confiscated the man’s vehicle. The suspect has now been made available to the Court of First Instance and instruction number 2 in Estepona.
