Man is said to have shot at someone else; 300 grams of meth discovered
Two people were arrested and charged after an alleged shooting and the discovery of 300 grams or 2/3 pounds of methamphetamine, as well as two firearms and $ 3,500 in cash.
Dale Silva, 36, of Cassville, is charged with assault (attempted murder), drug trafficking, armed crime and the illegal use of a weapon. His fiancé, Britney Brown, 28, from Cassville, is charged with the illegal use of a gun.
The incident occurred at around 4:40 p.m. on March 17 in two locations, the first on Highway MM near Maplewood Cemetery, according to a statement from Justin D. Ruark, assistant sheriff’s office in Barry County.
Silva allegedly tried to kill the victim after the victim drove his truck past Silva, who purposely stopped in the middle of the freeway, and Silva allegedly used a Springfield XD9 9mm pistol, which was allegedly stolen, to put a bullet on it Victim fire the truck as it drove by. The shot hit the vehicle’s passenger door just above the window, causing damage to the door and passenger window.
Silva drove an Audi A4 in 2008 and MPs located him in the vehicle at the second location on Rocky Road Drive in Exeter. Silva reportedly gave permission to search the vehicle and said MPs would not find anything.
Inside was a drawstring pouch with two more firearms, a semi-automatic Walther P22 .22 pistol with 11 rounds, and in a locker was a Davis Industries .380 caliber that was empty.
Silva was also reportedly seen with a blue container containing 300 grams of methamphetamine and $ 3,500 in cash in various bills.
Ruark said Silva was seen as a flight risk as he had fled police in the past and was believed to have been under the influence of methamphetamine at the time of his arrest.
He is being held in Barry County Jail on a $ 200,000 loan. He had been charged and a hearing is scheduled for today (Wednesday) at 9:00 a.m. in Judge Robert Foulke’s courtroom.
Brown is charged with the illegal use of a weapon. Ruark’s likely cause in her case identified her as an accomplice in the incident, as she was a passenger in a Silvas vehicle when the alleged shooting occurred and arrived with Silva at the Rocky Road Drive address.
Brown allegedly said that the two firearms in her vehicle that were with meth and cash belonged to her.
Ruark said that since Brown had her own firearms in the vehicle at the time of the attack, it is believed that the victim would be safer if she were incarcerated.
Brown is being held in Barry County Jail on a $ 20,000 loan. She has also been charged and is having a hearing at the same time and place as Silva.
