DEAR EDITOR:

I have a question for syndicated columnist Cal Thomas, or anyone that believes America should not ban AR-15 rifles for public ownership:

If you know you will be shot in your knee, would you prefer being shot with a pistol or an AR-15?

I personally know two gun enthusiasts — both hunters. One is a major gun collector, owning 1,000 or more. He does not own an AR-15. He has absolutely no desire to own one. He thinks they should be strictly for military use.

The other person says they’re fun to shoot for target practice, but not for hunting. They would blow the meat apart so much you wouldn’t have enough left to eat.

Would Cal Thomas or anyone like to look at one of their loved ones like the families of the Uvalde, Texas, children had to do after they were shot with an AR-15?
