Multiple weapons, gun parts seized from Ansonia man’s home | News

ANSONIA, CT (WFSB) – A gun fire call on Sunday evening resulted in the arrest of an Ansonia man and the seizure of several guns.

Ansonia police chief Patrick Lynch says 33-year-old Melvin Burroughs got into a verbal argument with two other men on Sixth Street.

At one point Burroughs pulled out a gun and shot the two men several times.

No one was hit by the gunshots, although police discovered that a vehicle, a shed and rubbish bin were gunshot.

It was later found that Burroughs was a convicted felon and was banned from possessing firearms.

Burroughs was arrested on multiple charges, including two cases of attempted criminal assault.

He was able to deposit his $ 150,000 bond and is expected to face indictment in Milford Superior Court on April 12.

Police confiscated three small arms, an AR15 rifle, a flamethrower, various ammunition and gun parts after searching Burrough’s home.

It is expected that additional fees will be charged against Burroughs.

Anyone with information about the Sunday incident is asked to call Ansonia Police at 203-735-1885.
