Police seek help identifying a man in an armed robbery in Constableville who shot this morning | Lewis County

CONSTABLEVILLE – A person was injured in an armed robbery at the Circle K convenience store on Route 26 this morning and law enforcement asked for clues.

Lewis County Sheriff’s investigator Edward K. Amelio said the store on Route 26 3033 was robbed at gunpoint between 5:15 a.m. and 5:30 a.m.

The employee was shot and taken to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Utica, where he was treated for a non-life threatening wound on his leg.

Images captured from the surveillance video inside show a man masked with an orange or red alligator pulled up as a mask and a blue cloak with a black hood that partially covers his face. He wore what appeared to be blue jeans, said Mr. Amelio, and had a small semi-automatic pistol in his hand.

“We are still in the early stages of the investigation,” he said, “but we will investigate any clue, no matter how little.”

It is not yet clear how much money was stolen, but the case officer will be interviewed later to check this.

The sheriff’s department is assisted at the scene by the State Police Department of Criminal Investigation, and the Constableville Fire Hall has been established as the command post for the investigation.

Law enforcement agencies are asking the public for help in identifying the man in the pictures or other information about the robbery.

Anyone with a tip to share should call the sheriff’s office at 315-376-3511.
