Stolen check book
An elderly woman’s checkbook was stolen from her home on Harvard’s 1100 block on Tuesday, April 13th.
The woman’s daughter reported the stolen checkbook, suspecting the caregiver was responsible.
A 22-year-old man from Detroit was stopped at Jefferson and Age on Tuesday, April 20 at 10:30 am for driving an unpostered car.
The man was arrested on an arrest warrant and a driver’s license.
A resident of Pemberton 900 block reported identity theft at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 21.
The victim reported that unemployment benefits had been applied for on her behalf.
Park officials investigating an accident in Charlevoix and Nottingham at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 22, found that the 32-year-old guilty driver had a suspended driver’s license.
The Detroit woman received a ticket and was released.
A window on the east side of a building on Mack’s 16000 block was broken into on Friday, April 23 at 4:30 a.m.
The suspect is unknown, as is what they used to break the window.
Arrest House Invasion 2020
Grosse Pointe city police arrested a 64-year-old man in Kercheval and Notre Dame on Thursday April 22nd.
The park had an arrest warrant for the man from a house invasion in August 2020. The city handed him over to the park.
Live big city
A park resident was tricked into sending money via cell on Thursday April 22nd.
The resident tried to secure a rental apartment in New York City for the summer and sent money to someone unaware of the apartment’s location.
Break into the garage
A two-vehicle garage in the 600 block of Balfour was broken into on Friday, April 23, between 2:45 and 3:30 a.m.
A window on the garage door was broken through which the suspect entered and broke the passenger-side windows of both vehicles.
A car was left undisturbed after the window was broken. An Apple MacBook, two credit cards and two handbags were reported missing in the second car.
The suspect is a man wearing a gray / black North Face jacket, black hat, black mask, black pants, and black shoes. He drove a bright, older Chevy Tahoe with black rims, black door handles, and tinted windows.
The investigation is still ongoing.

Great Pointe Woods
A resident was walking in Sunningdale Park between Vernier and Lochmoor when a man pulled up next to her in her orange SUV at 8.45pm on Tuesday April 20th.
The man who was believed to be in his late teens or early 20s made a sexual comment on the woman who noticed his groin area was exposed.
She waved him on to encourage him to leave the area.
A resident of Blairmoor’s 500 block reported a missing gun at 7:18 pm on Thursday, April 22nd.
Most recently, he remembered seeing Smith and Wesson’s 9mm pistol on Thursday April 8th. He had been out of town for five days and had painters in the house during that time.
Public safety investigated. The department was given the name of the company.
A woman parked her car in the north parking lot of Ascension St. John Hospital at 7:00 a.m. on Friday, April 23. When she returned at 4 p.m., she found her license bracket and rear view camera hanging on the back of the car.
Her license plate was missing. No further damage was found to the car.
At around 6:40 a.m. on Saturday, April 24, a woman parked her car in the north parking lot of Ascension St. John Hospital. She found the passenger-side rear window broken when she returned at 10:30 a.m.
Your steering wheel was missing from the vehicle.

City of the great punch line
After a 56-year-old Detroit man made lewd comments and inappropriately packed a nurse at a local hospital on Wednesday April 21, he was advised not to return to the hospital campus for other medical matters.
House invasion order
After an officer spotted a vehicle with no visible license plate heading east on Waterloo Street at 3:41 p.m. on Thursday, April 22, an officer recognized the 64-year-old park driver as a suspect with an active warrant for a criminal offense Park and arrested him.
A 49-year-old Grosse Pointe woman received a letter on Friday April 23 about unemployment benefits for which she had never applied.

Big Pointe Farms
After working in his basement, a 32-year-old Farms man on Tuesday April 20 discovered a nail gun and drill that were missing in an adjoining room.
The company informed the man that if he bought back the tools and presented a receipt, they would refund him.
On Sunday evening, April 18, a 25-year-old Commerce Township woman’s guitar was stolen from her vehicle parked in a driveway to Briarwood Place while visiting a friend.
After calling a guitar shop, the woman was able to retrieve her guitar and provide the officers with photographs of the male subject she sold to the shop and a photocopy of his ID.
Detectives are following the case.
Student with vape pen
An assistant principal at a local high school was sent an email from a student Tuesday, April 20, containing a video of another student smoking a vape pen in the cafeteria.
Although the student did not admit this, he consented to a search and the vape pen with THC was found.
The student received a quote for minors under 18 who owned marijuana and paraphernalia and was given to his parents.

Driving while your driver’s license is suspended
AAfter a 38-year-old Harrison Township woman was stopped for speeding at 49 mph on Lakeshore Road and North Edgewood on Sunday April 25, she was arrested for driving on Sunday April 25.
