Shooting Illustrated | First Look: Steelhead Outdoors Nomad 32 Modular Gun Safe

Steelhead Outdoors has added a new product to its growing Nomad modular gun safe line. The new Nomad 32 offers hunters, shooters and gun collectors a medium-sized choice between the Nomad 26 and Nomad 38 models. The model numbers correspond to the external width of the gun safes. All modular Safad safes from Steelhead Outdoors offer American quality and precision. Nomad safes can be ordered with either a mechanical dial lock or a digital push button lock.

Modular gun safes from Steelhead Outdoors can be easily moved and assembled by two people. Traditional safes require hiring a specialist moving company, which is expensive, or recruiting friends for a dangerous DIY adventure if the homeowner moves. In addition, the patent-pending design has a completely dry insulation system so that no dehumidifier is required.

This system uses a radiant heat reflective coating to keep the incoming heat from entering the safe. The metal interior offers additional protection and consists of almost 100 percent non-flammable materials. The panels are filled with ceramic fire protection insulation, which is designed for 2,300 degrees and does not trap moisture. Therefore, no dehumidifier is required and no steam is released into the safe in the event of a fire.

“We value customer feedback very much and some people have commented that they want a safe between the sizes we offer. We’ve listened and the Nomad 32 is a direct result of the feedback loop with our current and potential customers. The Nomad 26 is a great safe for small spaces and its low height means it can be pushed into almost any closet. However, that same short height can present a problem with specialty shotguns or other unique firearms. The Nomad 32 is the same height of 60 inches as the Nomad 38 and the width and depth are exactly halfway between the sizes of the 26 and the 38. “

Steelhead Outdoors The Nomad Series Premium Modular Gun Safes are designed and constructed to allow flexibility and mobility without compromising safety or durability. Shooters, hunters and gun collectors will appreciate their smart design decisions, such as the double-walled construction with welded, powder-coated 12-gauge outer panels and 20-gauge inner panels and 7-gauge plate door. The patent-pending construction of the Nomad line features two-tier fire protection as well as 2300-degree insulation and radiation-reflecting panels that do not contain trapped moisture and eliminate corrosion problems with traditional weapon-safe fire protection insulation.

You can either choose a Nomad model or work with the Steelhead Outdoors engineers to create a custom gun safe. Custom made modular safes from Steelhead Outdoors will fit any room in the home and come in a variety of colors. Please visit Steelheadotdoors.com for more information.
