Shooting Illustrated | First Look: Streamlight TLR-6 Weaponlight for New Handgun Models

Streamlight Inc. introduces new, laser-equipped models of its TLR-6 compact rail-mount weapon light, suitable for some of America’s most popular small arms, including the Springfield Armory Hellcat and Glock 43X, and the 48 MOS and Rail.

The company also released a version of its TLR-6 for the SIG Sauer P365 and P365 XL small cars that comes without a laser module. These new models are all designed to be securely attached to the rail and trigger guard of a small car pistol to maximize visibility and aiming ability in a variety of covert carry, home defense and tactical situations.

“Our popular line of TLR-6 weapon lights continues to grow as more laser-equipped models are added to a variety of popular small cars,” said Ray Sharrah, President and Chief Executive Officer of Streamlight. “In addition to providing targeted bright light, these latest light / laser models also have a powerful red aiming laser that makes it easier for users to identify a potential threat before taking action. And the non-laser version of the TLR-6 for SIG Sauer P365 gives agencies with non-laser guidelines and other users an ultra-light gun light option for the pistol. “

Each of the new models of TLR-6 lights delivers 100 lumens and 2,000 candelas over a beam distance of 89 meters. They also have a parabolic reflector that creates a balance between the beam and peripheral lighting. The laser models offer three lighting modes: LED light only, LED with laser and laser only mode. The operating times for the various modes are one hour for the LED-only and LED / laser mode and 11 hours for the laser-only mode.

The new lights are powered by two (2) 3 volt CR-1 / 3N lithium coin batteries. They have a built-in battery cover that allows the batteries to be replaced while the light remains attached to the gun so that the laser no longer needs to be sighted after a battery change.

Each luminaire is made of impact-resistant polymer and has protection class IPX4 for water-resistant operation and an impact resistance of up to one meter. The TLR-6 for the Springfield Armory Hellcat is 2.33 inches long, the TLR-6 for the Glock 43X and Glock 48 Rail is 2.12 inches long, and the non-laser TLR-6 for the SIG Sauer P365 is 2.5 inches long.

The TLR-6 for the Springfield Armory Hellcat and the TLR-6 for the Glock 43X and Glock 48 Rail have an MSRP of $ 187.43, while the laser-less TLR-6 for the SIG Sauer P365 has an MSRP of $ 131.30 Has. For more information on these lights and other Streamlight products, please visit streamlight.com.
