Shooting Sports USA | Registration For 2021 NRA National Championships Opens Apr. 8

The 2021 NRA National Championships for Smallbore Rifles, Precision Pistols, and Heavy Duty Rifles will be fired on the Indiana National Guard’s prime ranges in Camp Atterbury, Indiana from July 6 through August 28. Online registration is open on Thursday, April 8th at 9:00 am EST.

Last year, the Smallbore and Precision Pistol were slated for High Power Rifle at Camp Atterbury to reunite the NRA National Championships in a single location. However, this has been delayed due to Covid-19. The NRA High Power Rifle Nationals have been held at Camp Atterbury since 2017.

As previously mentioned, registration for the 2021 NRA National Championships will begin on Thursday April 8th via the Competitive Shooting Web Portal. If you have not yet set up your profile there, please do so at Competitor.nra.org/Register.aspx.

Below is the 2021 NRA National Championships game calendar.

The NRA Smallbore Championships will be held July 6-18 at Camp Atterbury. The championship includes 3 positions, metric positions, conventional positions, prone position and F-class, as well as metric prone position and F-class.

  • 6-10 July position
  • 11-16 July lying down, F-Class
  • 17.-18. July

After the Smallbore Rifle, the NRA Precision Pistol Nationals will begin at Camp Atterbury on July 20th and end on July 25th. The schedule includes the .22 LR Championship, the Centerfire Championship and the .45 ACP Championship as well as the team matches.

For high-powered rifles, Camp Atterbury will also fire the NRA Medium-Range, Long-Range, F-Class Long-Range, F-Class Medium-Range and International Fullbore Championships 2021. The games start on July 23rd and last through August 29th. In addition, the Extreme Long Range Championship is expected to take place again on August 20th before the High Power Across-the-Course Games. This popular event, which debuted at Camp Atterbury in 2017, is a must-see for ELR competitors and offers the chance to shoot targets at a mile and beyond.

In addition, post tournaments of the NRA National Indoor Sectional Championship will take place nationwide until the end of May. The clubs offer Precision Pistol, International Air Pistol, International Free and Standard Pistol, Smallbore Rifle, and Junior Smallbore Rifle tournaments.
