South Carolina men arrested on several felony weapons charges

CORNWALL – Two men from Hemingway, South Carolina were arrested after a traffic obstruction on the Thruway in the city of Cornwall.

When the driver was questioned after the stop on February 11 at 5:25 a.m., a likely reason for the search of the vehicle and occupants was identified.

This led to the discovery of a 9mm pistol with a magazine loaded with seven cartridges.

Driver Israel Davis, 25, and passenger Malick Davis, 22, were charged with criminal possession of a gun as a misdemeanor. Malick Davis has been charged with a previous conviction of criminal possession of a gun.

Both men were also charged with criminal possession of a firearm.

They were each published on tickets that could be returned to the Cornwall Town Court.
