Sunset man arrested in housebreaking, shots fired incidents
Sunset Police arrested an exchange of fire that took place earlier this week.
Police responded to a shooting call in the Landry Street, Patton Street and Pershing Hwy areas around 8:40 p.m. on Wednesday March 3rd. Witnesses told police that a 2000 Chevy two-tone pickup model left the scene and investigators found 9mm of used cases in the area.
The investigation led the police to the described vehicle on the 100 block of Jerry Lane in Sunset, where officers arrested the 21-year-old Braylon Mouton for questioning. After a written voluntary search of Mouton’s home and vehicle, officers found four worn 9mm cases in his vehicle, two handguns, two AR15 rifles and one handgun that police said had been sold to an unknown person.
According to police, the guns were reported stolen in a residential break-in on February 6 in Sunset.
