The drawing date for the ‘Scorching Summer time’ of the Happy Trails Children’s Foundation is getting closer

The Happy Trails Children’s Foundation is again organizing a “Sizzling Summer Opportunity Drawing”, the proceeds of which will benefit the foundation and its Cooper Home.

The grand prize this year is “The Alamo”, a Colt single-action revolver straight from the Colt Custom Shop. It’s a tribute to The Alamo.

This beautiful and unique weapon is in bright colt blue, with bullseye ejector rod, cylinder, trigger guard and trigger, hammer, back strap and screws – all in gold.

The Lone Star on the left handle is also gold-colored.

The beautiful handles have Colt medallions.

The gun has a 5½ inch barrel and a .45 Colt chamber (often referred to as the .45 Long Colt).

It comes with a custom made lock box lined with blue velvet. A scene from The Alamo is burned into the lid.

This is a very collectable firearm that everyone would be proud of.

As an additional prize for the Sizzling Summer Draw, there is a Glock Model 19 9mm pistol for the second.

This new, included, hard-to-find Glock Model 19 is semi-automatic and highly sought-after. It is used by law enforcement agencies today.

The third prize is an Armscor .12 pump shotgun with a synthetic shaft and butt plate.

All firearms in this drawing are real weapons and, according to the foundation, are subject to all federal and state laws and regulations.

There are two chances of winning fourth prize, The Official TV Western Round-up Book by Neil Summers and Roger M. Crowley. Both men are friends of the foundation. Summers, a former stunt performer and stunt coordinator, owns perhaps the largest collection of photos from movies and TV shows in the world.

Released in 2002, the book includes a photo and information on every Western TV series from its inception (1948-1949) to the book’s release date.

The books are hand-signed by the authors.

Five lucky winners will receive The Westerner from Roger M. Crowley. This special commemorative edition is an entertaining compilation of articles published in journals of the same name between 1986 and 1996 by one of the leading experts on John Wayne and his films.

The drawing will take place on September 11th and you don’t have to be there to win. Tickets are $ 10 each or 11 tickets are $ 100. Telephone orders are accepted until September 10 at 2:00 p.m. at 855-788-4440. You can order online at or by mail to Happy Trails Children’s Foundation, 10755 Apple Valley Road, Apple Valley, 92308.
