Three arrested after shots fired in Campbell River

Three people were arrested after the Campbell River RCMP responded to reports of gunfire early Monday.

The officers replied on Quinsam Road at around 3:35 a.m. and found three people in the area. One was in possession of a semi-automatic pistol.

A 23-year-old woman, a 20-year-old man and a 26-year-old man were taken into custody.

The police confiscated several firearms for reasons of public safety.

“At this point there is no evidence that any person was targeted by the nightly shooting,” said Const. Maury tires.

The investigation continues.
