Troopers Arrest Wilmington Man on Weapon and Drug Charges – Wilmington – Delaware State Police

Wilmington Delaware State Police arrested the 31-year-old Anthony Hardman from Wilmington, DE, on gun and drug charges following a traffic obstruction in a suspicious vehicle Thursday night.

On March 4, 2021, at approximately 11:26 p.m., a soldier was watching a black Hyundai sonata with the lights on in the parking lot of Bonsall Park on 3000 Silverside Road in Wilmington. The park is closed after dark so the soldier stopped to check on the suspicious vehicle. Upon contact with the operator identified as Anthony Hardman, the soldier smelled a smell of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle and an investigation was conducted. A search for probable causes was conducted and the soldier discovered a loaded 9mm Taurus pistol hidden on Hardman and approximately 1.3 grams of marijuana.

Hardman was taken into custody without incident and taken to Troop 1, where he was charged with the following crimes:

  • Prohibited Person Possession of Deadly Weapon (Crime)
  • Carrying a hidden deadly weapon (crime)
  • Possession of marijuana (civil)

Hardman was tried in the No. 11 Magistrate’s Court and was released on bail for $ 7,600.
