Two in court after investigation in cocaine supply across Sydney – Surry Hills RES

Surry Hills Regional Enforcement Squad (RES) investigators have charged two people and seized 2.5kg of cocaine, two firearms and more than $ 15,000 in cash to investigate the ongoing supply of cocaine across Sydney.

In September 2020, detectives from Surry Hills RES founded Strike Force Riesling to investigate the ongoing supply of cocaine to a criminal syndicate operating in Sydney.

Yesterday (Thursday, February 25, 2021), just before 8 a.m., strike forces conducted with the support of the PORS (Public Order and Riot Squad), the Operations Support Group of the Central Metropolitan Region, the Dog Unit and the Police Rescue and Bomb Disposal Unit simultaneous three warrant searches of homes in Greenacre, Bossley Park and Punchbowl.

During the search of Acacia Avenue in Greenacre, police reportedly found and confiscated 2.5 kg of cocaine, an AR15 rifle with four loaded magazines, three ballistic vests, nearly $ 7,000 in cash and a large amount of ammunition.

During the search in Bossley Park, police allegedly found more than $ 10,000 in cash, as well as a jet ski and trailer.

Police allegedly found cell phones, a 22LY pistol and ammunition in the house on Noble Avenue in Punchbowl.

All items were confiscated for forensic investigation.

A 35-year-old man was arrested in Greenacre and taken to Bankstown Police Station, where he was charged with:

• Two counts of delivery prohibited drugs more than commercial amount

• Prohibit continuously prohibited drugs

• Knowingly direct activities of criminal groups

• Possess / try to prescribe a restricted substance

• Have unauthorized prohibited firearms

• Have an unregistered weapon

• Own ammunition without having a license / permit

• Two cases where the gun is not stored safely, owning or using prohibited guns without permission

• No police officer wears a police uniform

• Possess a banned drug

• Knowingly handle the proceeds of crime

He was denied bail today (Friday, February 26, 2021) to appear in Bankstown District Court.

A 27-year-old woman was arrested in Bossley Park and taken to Fairfield Police Station. She has been charged with continually supplying prohibited drugs, supplying prohibited drugs in excess of an indictable amount, knowingly handling the proceeds of crime, handling the proceeds of crime, and participating in a criminal organization.

She was denied bail to appear in Fairfield Local Court today.
