Young aspiring bull riders participated in the third event of the Southern California Youth Bull Riders season at the Hauser Bucking Bull Arena in Winchester on Saturday. Drivers aged 4 and over, both boys and girls, rode sheep, calves and oxen depending on their experience and hoped to make it through the full 8 seconds.

Junior Saenz, SCYBR President and former bull rider of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, created the 8-event series in 2018 with the words: “I don’t want the rodeo to go away. I want to show children an alternative sport they can participate in that creates character. We don’t give out trophies to participate, these kids deserve what they get through hard work and commitment. ”

The winners of each division will receive a bespoke belt buckle, while the series champion will receive a saddle at the end of the season. The next event is scheduled for June 26th.
